Makes me Wanna Move
So a good friend of mine recently moved to American Samoa and has been blogging about it every day. Honestly.... It totally makes me want to pack up my family and move to Samoa when Kasala is finished with school. I know that it is a long way from where I grew up but something about her blog today gave me the desire to just leave the US and move to a more simpler way of life. Some where where what I have isn't compared to someone else. Where I can take a break from technology and not feel like such a prisoner to it. Where I can teach and show my children that what we have is what we worked for... and what we work for is what we have. I would love to just get away from everything, and sometimes everyone, and detach myself from all the hustle and bustle that seems to come with living in the US.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!
We celebrated Kasala's 28th birthday this past weekend. I had been talking to Terina for about 3 weeks trying to get her to plan a "party" for her Dad. She came up with some really great ideas for a birthday party... if you were planning a party for a 4 year old! She stuck to her guns though and we carried out her party for Kasala.
Saturday afternoon we went to the Glow Putt place in the mall. "Dad loves to golf so we'll go mini golf." We played our 18 holes and had a blast doing it. Terina was the only person to get a hole in 1! She LOVES playing mini golf. I have a feeling we'll be doing a lot of that in the future. After golfing we had lunch at Panda Express. Kasala and I are not huge fans of Panda Express but... we weren't the party planners. Terina started to fever a little so we called it a day and made our way back home even though we didn't finish her party plans.
Sunday we (Terina) decided that we needed to finish the party so we headed out early to have lunch at Chili's and to Walmart to get Sala a Buzz Lightyear and new baby doll. (Because that's just what he wanted for his birthday) I was able to talk her out of the Buzz but with the baby doll she stood her ground. So....Kasala got a baby doll, pants, socks and a shirt for his internship.
Monday, on Sala's real birthday, we made him dinner and had cake and ice cream. It wasn't much but he said he had a good birthday. I don't know if I'll let Terina plan my birthday party though..... We'll probably end up going mini golf in the middle of winter.

The Count Down Begins!
Kasala has 131 days before he's a college graduate!! I LOVE that he's going to be done with school. It's such an accomplishment for him to be graduating. I think he's the only one in his family who will graduate from school. I'm excited for us to move on the the next phase in life. Hopefully he'll be able to find a good job and we'll be able to pay off our bills while living with mom and dad. Our goal is 1 year..... 1 year with my parents and then on to our own home....that's the plan and we're sticking too it.
The last semester is going to be super hectic for us though. Kasala is doing intership, I'm working, we have a baby on the way, we need to start packing and getting rid of stuff, Sala's dad will be visiting, my parents will be visiting (I hope).... it's just going to be busy but I know that we'll get through it.
I'm really excited for what the next 4 months has in store for us.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Disney has been shooting Pirates of the Caribbean in Hawaii. Part of the set is about a 30 minute drive from home. Last week we went as a family to take some pictures of the Queen Ann, Black Beards ship in the movie. Terina had a blast! She thought that we were going to watch a movie on the ship. No matter how many times we tried to explain to her that they are making the movie she just didn't get it.
Here we are driving to the park that looks across the bay. Kasala was able to get some ok pictures from there. They had lighting boxes up so it was hard to see the whole boat sometimes. Terina loved looking at the boat and was waiting for pirates to come by.... of course no pirates came but she was willing to wait all day for them.
Last night a group of girls got together and drove back to the dock to see if we could catch Johnny Depp. We left around 8:30pm and by the time I found a place to part it was around 9:30pm. We hung out, talked and laughed. It was so much fun. I got a few more pictures of the ship while they were filming but there was so much "fog" around it that many of them didn't turn out very good.
Here we all are waiting for Johnny Depp. My legs were KILLING me and I could hardly bend down to take this picture but I had so much fun with these girls! And after 3 hours of waiting for Jack Sparrow to come out from make up.... he finally made it :)
They aren't the best pictures but for being pushed and bumped they came out ok. We had a lot of fun. He was super nice and took the time to go down the line, shake hands, and sign autographs. I even stuck my hand out and he shook it! I wish I knew how to work the camera a little better. Or.... I should have just took my small digital one.
We even got to meet super producer Jerry Bruckheimer! He was great too. All you had to do was ask for a photo with him and he'd stop, smile and let you snap away!!
All in all.... It was a great night with great friends. Hopefully we get to do more fun things like this before we move!!
