Terina made Strawberry Jam with Grandma today. She picked the berries yesterday at a strawberry field in Puyallup and picked a whole box by herself. Together her and Grandma picked 13 pounds of strawberries. She was very proud of herself and excited that she was able to make jam for Grandpa because "Strawberry is his favorite and so am I" Pretty sure she was wrong about being his favorite because I think we ALL know who is favorite is these days (Kellen). Anyways...here's her "News Report" of how to make Strawberry Jam

Berry Picker
Today we were on a mission to find some strawberries to make freezer jam for Grandpa. We had been looking for a place to go and pick them on the internet but weren't finding anything that was in the area but Grandma knew that if we drove down River Road we would come across something. So that's just what we did!
We found Duris Farms and we were able to go out back and pick some berries. Terina was really excited and I know that my mom had been wanting to do this with her so I think she was a little excited too. Terina had a hard time staying in one row and picking berries. She was all over the place!
I think Manamea had the hardest job. She had to sit in the strawberry field and try to NOT eat the rotten ones. All them strawberries gave her some bubble gut at the end of the day but that was alright. I couldn't remember the last time she had a good poop so maybe it was for the better that she just sat there and ate.
Terina is pretty excited to be doing this with her Grandma. She loves doing little projects and I'm glad that she's able to spend time with Grandma too. You never k now when we'll be moving out and who knows where we'll go.

Terina and Grandma picked about 13 pounds of berries. I didn't think there were that many in the two little boxes that they picked but I guess we were out there for about an hour. Terina was very proud of the berries she picked. I'm just glad that she finally finished something she started. Even though we did help her out a little bit she picked a majority of that box all by her self. It doesn't matter that there were some rotten ones in there or that she tore half the plant off with a few of the berries....the point was that she had a job and she finished it. She doesn't do that too often...especially when things get hard she tends to throw in the towel a little earlier than I'd like.
And here and the 3 Stooges after picking their strawberries. They picked a total of 13 pounds! Now to get the berries home, washed and smashed for some jam. We'll see what tomorrow brings and how the jam turns out.

Summer Mishaps Part 2
Yesterday our ward had an activity that my dad was in charge of. It was a simple outside BBQ at the church building. There is a really nice grassy area on the side of the building and the weather was great! We went and had fun. Terina was playing all the games and even won the 3 legged race! Towards the end however she got a little reckless. She want paying attention to where she was running and her face met the concrete. She looked like she got punched in the face! Oh well I guess....she's a kids and nothing was broken.....but her nose was starting to heal up and go away until this happend.

Summer Mishaps

I can already tell what kind of summer this is going to turn in to....one full of bandaides. Terina was out playing in the back today with Manamea. She was pushing her little sister in the swing which is right next to the big wooden play thingy. Now that play thingy has been there just as long as the swing....it's not new at all but for some reason Terina forgot it was there. I was picking up the playground when all of a sudden I hear crying. Terina had some how ram into this big wooden play thingy that doesn't move ! She had a scrape across her nose and looked like she took a cheese grater and washed her nose with it.

Easter Sunday
I guess I'm going to have to play catch up again. Things have been super busy and stressful lately so I guess this is the one thing that has been neglected...among other things.
Easter was really relaxed this year. Jeff and Bree were here as well as Jared and Ashlee. They had come for Sinua's funeral the day before so we were able to spend Saturday with them but not much time on Sunday. I actually forgot to get something for baskets so of course Kasala and I were at Walmart late Saturday night...but Jeff was there even later because we saw his car in the parking lot as we were going home. Anyways....Baskets were made and early Sunday morning Terina found her basket. There wasn't much in there...a coloring book, Easter book, some candy and a toy I think.
We found some really cute matching dresses at Crazy 8's for the girls and Terina loved dressing her little sister up to match her. Easter was really laid back this year which was great. With all the events that went on that weekend it was a great time to stop and reflect on why Easter is so important.
