Poor Terina!
Ok Phebe.. here it is... Now lets see your sick child!
Yesterday when Terina woke up she had a small bug bite under her eye.
Yesterday the bite started to swell a bit.
Last night it continued to swell.
We gave her some medicine and tried to put some ice on it.
She didn't like either one.
Very early this morning (3am) I checked on her to find it was still swelling. This morning when she woke up this is what I found.....
My poor baby! Yes, I'm taking her to the Dr... and yes I am taking extra special care of her. I hope she feels better soon... or at least looks better. Here's some pictures of her on a better day

Cake, Presents and Fireworks?
Today we finally celebrated my 26th birthday! You wouldn't know it from my cake because Kasala made the candles out to say 27 but he had Terina distracting him... right? Anyways.. today was a huge day.
My birthday..... we had pizza for dinner on Wednesday and I took a nap. That's it! Oh and I spent about 3 hours outside at the playground. Today we went and I got a new phone. I don't know if it was really needed but it's a nice blackberry. I'm thinking about taking it back though just because I can't believe that I spent so much money on a phone upgrade. Anyways.. we came home and had a nice dinner and I made myself a birthday cake. I frosted it and started to put my own candles on it when Terina came in so I left it up to her and her father. Hence why I
had 27 candles on the cake and I'm only 26. They sang Happy Birthday and Terina helped me blow out my candles. It's getting a lot harder to get them all out... even with help!
It was my first day as a substitute here in Hawaii. I worked in a 6th grade classroom at Laie Elementary. It was GREAT! I was really nervous for some reason but I had so much fun. The kids were great too. I quit my job as a part time teacher at Kahuku. I was doing a lot of work that I shouldn't have been doing and finally got tired of it. It's all politics I've come to find out anyways. My new rule... stay out of it! Mind my own business, do my job, and get out.
Today was also Terina's last day at her daycare. She's starting at Rainbow School on Monday and going until 3:30 everyday. They take naps there... I'm a little worried about that part. I took her over there on Thursday so that she could play a little and get a feel for it. SHE LOVED IT!! She was running all over the place exploring and playing with her friends. I just hope we get enough funding from our Child Care grant to cover it. It's $600.00 a month! If we don't get enough we'll have to figure something out... like maybe picking up another job or something I don't know.

We then started to watch a movie when I heard fireworks going off. Kasala told us to run outside, which we did, and we stood at the end of our building watching a beautiful fireworks show that lasted a good 5-10 minutes. Was it just for me? I like to think so! But no.. there was a Japanese company that rented out the whole Polynesian Culture Center and part of their evening included a fireworks display. But I still like to think that Kasala planned it just for me :)
Jared and Ashlee sent me a super cool poster picture of Terina. It's huge! Well... it's just long but it's so amazing and cute and I just love it. It's going to be a pain to find a frame for it but I can look and save up for a nice frame. Jeff and Bree called and I got to talk to the for a little while, of course I talked to Phebe and Anthony, Mom and Dad and Jake too. Mike must have been either busy, or he forgot, or he just didn't care.... any of the above would fit Mike but that's alright. I did accidentally call him that morning at 6am when I was jumping out of bed so I did talk to him I guess.
Overall it was a very relaxing 26th birthday. I spent the evening with my husband watching movies and the day with my crazy daughter playing outside.

HELP!!
I'm going out of my mind! My little girl has turned into a demon child! And this time I'm not joking. Terina has gotten to what I think is out of control. When she doesn't want to do something or when we don't give her what she wants right away the fist start to fly. She hits, she throws things, she'll fall and the ground kicking and screaming.... I can't take it! It seems like this has all just gotten worse over the last few weeks. Maybe she isn't sleeping enough? She's been in bed now napping for almost 2 hours.... I don't know. PLUS... She won't use the toilet! We were doing so good and then all of a sudden she wants to act like it's gonna swallow her whole.
Please... any experienced mothers out there... any advice?
Some times I really just wanna whack her... .and I do... under warranted reasons (like pushing a little 8 month old over who was just sitting there in the grass minding her own business... yeah)
Don't let this innocent face fool you!! She's a beast!
(And yes... I let her wear those Snow White dress up shoes to church)

WHAT?!
Kasala has been in school since January 6th and we have been waiting for his loans to come in so we can pay some bills and I don't know... get some food maybe. So I have been on the phone with Bank of America, who is his lender, trying to figure out where the money is that we should have received on January 9th. Anyways... a long story short is that the lady at Financial Aid told me yesterday that I am banned from every calling or going in there and if I do she'll call security and have me removed or "taken care of." WTH?!?! Are you kidding me? We've gone 2 weeks waiting for him to buy books and get things that we need... and pay our bills. And when we ask where the money is their answer: "We aren't exactly sure. Let me have your number and we'll call you back." And do we every get a call back?? I'll let you figure that out.
For everyone who really knows me knows that I can get out of control... and SUPRISE!! I actually didn't do anything this time... the word damn might have been used but that was it. And trust me... I could have said much, much worse. Anyways... we finally got the money today and suprise suprise... it's already gone to rent, car and bills.
Anyways on a lighter note... I don't know where our camera is (sorry Mom). But Terina had one of her little friends over tonight for a Princess Party. They had a tea party, watched Cinderilla, painted finger and toe nails and I didn't take a picture of it. I'm sure there will be many more of these little parties but it was just really cute. She's been stuck inside a lot becuase of the killer mosquitoes that are outside so she was pretty excited to have a friend over. Anyways.. time to clean up the mess before the roaches sense something in our house and invade... or that white gecko that I saw this morning decides to come out anf visit. I need to find my fly swater and kill the dang thing.... Life in Laie is..... infested with.... LOVE :)

Is This It?
First of all... Thank you Phebe... I did a little research (I googled it) and only found that a 12 year boy died from spraying too much deodorant on in a little space and then he had irregular heart beats and stuff. Weird huh?
Second... a New Year... a new man? I just can't believe what a change I came home to. I love my family and I love being out here in Hawaii... in our own home. I think last semester Kasala saw how stressed out I was getting with working, taking care of Terina and making sure our house was always clean cause people like to "drop by" all the time and sometimes we wanna keep our doors open. Anyways, I came home and right away had to drop my bags and run to the elementary school to get a shot. I came home, took Terina outside to play then started to unpack. By the time Kasala got home from work Terina was in bed and I was so exhausted. He didn't ask about dinner (it was cold pizza in the fridge) but instead came in and washed the dishes that I had not got around to. Kasala doesn't wash dishes. He'll clean everything else but he doesn't wash dishes. Last semester I didn't ask him to do much. I want him to concentrate on school work so that he can do his best. But I think he noticed how worn down I was getting all the time. Anyways... Kasala has totally turned a new leaf! I love him more than ever. He wasn't a bad guy before don't get me wrong but it just seems as if we have grown so much in this last 6 months and that things can only get better!
Third.... I started this post 2 days ago and I don't quite remember where I was.... lets see... MOTHERHOOD!!
I was reading what Phebe had to say about being a mom and all that it entails and I love her philosophy... if you don't go into things with huge expectations then you w
on't get disappointed when things don't go as you want them to. I think I'm the total opposite. I have always wanted to be a mom... I never saw myself doing anything else. I had a life plan and, of course, that plan didn't really work out as I wanted it to. I was "suppose to" go to college, graduate, get a job, a house, married to someone with a good job and then have kids and stay home. Then raise those kids and go back to work when they were all in school.

Then raise those kids and go back to work when they were all in school. The plan was a wonderful plan..... but reality is that it didn't happen. Mom got me a book for Christmas I Am a Mother and I read almost the whole thing on the airplane while Terina was sleeping. The plan doesn't always work out and being a mother is more than just cleaning house and coloring. I think that growing up that I would be a patient and fun mom. You know... one of those mom's who all your kid's friends wanna hang out with. I am far from patient and I don't think I'm much fun either. I have to do everything in my power EVERY SINGLE DAY not to lose it. In the book it talked about how one mom would lock herself in the bathroom just to get some time to herself. I find that I do that too. I'll lock the door and sit in there and cry because Terina isn't doing what I want her too or she colored all over the walls again or she got in the fridge and broke all the eggs while I was cleaning up pee on the carpet.... it's always something and I'm always wanting to just punch someone or something!
I always thought I was going to be a good, loving mom and wife when in reality I go to bed thinking about everything I did wrong that day or how horrible of a mom I am and how Terina is going to hate me by the time she's 4. And sure enough... I wake up the next morning ready to give it another try just to go to bed disappointed again. Will the cycle ever end? I just want my dream plan to come true.... The perfect job, the perfect family with a little perfect house...... pish posh.... I guess the only thing left to do is make due with what we have keep trying to improve each day.... and not pull my hair out or punch anyone

Happy New Year!
What an exciting day! The start of a new year... and here I am going back to the past couple weeks because I've been so lazy and haven't posted. So I'll find a couple pictures and write a little the rest of this week and hopefully cover all my bases.
It snowed quite a bit here this winter. Dad and Kasala took Terina out one day while I was out running around. (I take back my prior statement of Dad's don't take pictures. They take them when told to take them) She had a lot of fun outside in the snow. And so did her dad. :)
Last winter Kasala never wanted to go outside and play in the snow but they year he had no objections. And the first thing he found when we went outside was his bb gun.
Terina had her work cut out for her. She just had to fit herself into a little sled and get pulled around by Grandpa all afternoon. She had such a fun time that day with Dad and Grandpa.
There has been a lot going on here in Washington! Terina has spent hours with her cousins and every time they leave she tries to go with them. It was just "heart breaking" for Phebe to have to hear Terina ask over and over again, "I go with you? I go with you Phebe?" They never did take her but they would have if there was room I bet. Phebe is defiantly loved by Terina. She always ran to her for everything. And she would only use the potty for Phebe. Good thing she taught me her tricks before she left. I just realized I don't have any pictures of Terina and Phebe together.. probably cause the mom's were always really busy and the dad's don't ever take pictures.....

Terina and her little boyfriend Malichai had a "date night" while their dad's played Halo. They watched Kung Fu Panda, ate popcorn and were catered to by me... and they're only 2 years old. But they had fun and I had nothing else to do.
