Here we are together!!
Well... we have been here in Hawaii for a couple weeks now and I am finally having some time to sit down and create a blog so that our family and friends can see what we are up to. I'll try my best to write once a week or at least a couple times a month and put some pictures up. This is going to be a lot easier than myspace, bebo or facebook.
So... Terina and I got here on June 3rd with my mom. I'm so thankful that she came with us because if she didn't I would have probably went back to the airport and caught the next plane out of here. I never knew that married housing was so "simple". We don't even have a door on our bedroom!! And our walls are cinder block! One good thing is that we haven't seen many roaches. From what I've been hearing the last family that lived here were not so clean and they had roaches everywhere in this place. Kasala knew I would freak out if I saw any so he spent the 6 weeks he was here with his friends getting rid of all the creepy crawlers.
Anyways.... After about 10 trips to Walmart, Costco and the grocery stores, Mom got our apartment in a livable condition. I am so thankful for her any my Dad. They are the greatest. They got Terina a cute little bed, some Dora stickers for her walls, toy baskets and a little reading chair. Without Mom and Dad she'd be sleeping in our really small bed with us and that just doesn't work anymore.
So our apartment is livable and our front door opens to a playground. Going anywhere with Terina is a struggle. She's a fast runner and she bolts for the playground every time. She learning how to play with all the other kids... and boy are there a lot of them. She's still a little crybaby most of the time but she's getting a lot better.
Our ward is the only one on campus with a primary and there were about 16 kids in the nursery!! It was crazy!! Terina had a lot of fun in there. She didn't stay the whole time though. Because they have air conditioning in there they didn't open any windows and she really wanted to go look out the window. I don't think they did singing time or bubbles either. It's just something new that she has to get use to.
I am still looking for a job. I had an interview with the state and dropped my resume off at a couple schools. Public school starts July 24th here so I should hear mid July from schools who want to hire me. If I don't get a permanent job, hopefully I'll get a sub job at one of the schools. Kasala just finished Spring term and we're waiting for his grades. He thinks he did really well. He is working at the Polynesian Culture Center as a tour guide (he just started that this week) and dancing night show. He enjoys what he does but the pay is rotten. So we'll see how long this lasts ;)
Life is starting to get better. We all miss Washington and Kasala misses his family as well. We can't wait until we're able to go to Samoa and see his family and I know that we'll be home sooner than later to Washington.

Awe, good job to Kasala & co. for getting rid of your new pets! Lol! That was cool of him to think of you and get rid of the roaches. I'm glad your apartment is "livable"...I'm a little sad for you. It's ok, you'll get to live it up in luxury one day! Good luck with the job hunt! I know it sucks, but you'll get something good. LOVE U!!
