Rainbow School, Dates and chicken pox
Terina started her new day care on Monday while I am substituting. I have only had 3 jobs so far but I have 2 more scheduled for next week at the Elementary School in 4th grade. I worked with those kids in Math and language arts so I'm a little excited I guess. I also got a call on Monday from an expecting mother for a 6 week long term substituting position! I'm super excited about that because it's in social studies. We'll do the industrial revolution, westward expansion and start the Civil War... all things I did during student teaching! I have some great things that we could do. I'll have to tweak it because these are 8th graders and I student taught with 11th grade Honors students but I think it'll work. I also still have all my lesson plans too.
Anyways.. back to Rainbow School. Terina loves it! She's singing a song that she learned about the weather right. All I can make out is "what's the weather, what's the weather...." I don't know what she's saying past that. Anyways... I have dropped her off a little later these past 2 days and have seen Terina get to school, go right to the bathroom and wash her hands and then get ready for breakfast. She goes outside with the rest of her class and sits at picnic tables to eat. What she does past that I don't know but when I go pick her up she is so excited to see me and tell me what she did.
Well, I didn't have a job yesterday or today which is kind of a bummer but I got to get somethings done while Terina was at school. I made a trip to town to sort out her Child Care papers and went to Walmart... BY MYSELF!! It was great!I got all my shopping done with no problems. I even made a stop a ROSS just to walk around! Today Kasala got done with class early and we decided to go out shopping again for some things for the house. And again... we went alone.. we even had a nice lunch together with no problems!
I do feel a little bad that I'm home and she's at Rainbow School but she loves it there! She's learning so much and learning how to get along with other kids which she was struggling with a little at the playground. She's learning things there that I can't teach her at home.. unless she has a sibling which she doesn't. But it's alright. I'll be working until the beginning of May and I won't feel so bad about her being there.
Lastly.. Mom thinks Terina might have Chicken Pox. The doctor here seems to think she's fine but he didn't even look at her bites, he just gave her more antibiotics to take. I don't know... her doctor is nothing like the ones she had in Tacoma. I miss them...... We'll see how she is tomorrow and we'll probably take a trip to Queens Medical in town to get a real diagnosis.

I am glad you get time to yourself- it's something every mom needs so don't feel bad! Chicken pox? Does she have a lot of spots all over her body? Crazy! Good luck!
We are so on the same page with the time thing. I totally just posted about that. And I don't think you should feel bad about it at all. It's not like you left her at a babysitter or something and went off by yourselves. One thing I've learned since having Leila is that I really begin to value the time we get to spend together. It isn't long but it matters.
Yay for Rainbow schools.. glad she adjusting well!
Last year I took my Rachael in to the health center, the doctor literally gave me a "Fever Lecture" told me i was over reacting and sent me home.....two days later we took her to the Kapiolani children center and she ended up being hospitalized for a couple weeks!
A mother's intuition is there for a purpose! I say do what you need to!
BTW the word verification says....ehsole... hehe!
