As Sistas in Zion

I can not stop laughing at this website! IT'S GREAT!! There is always something insightful or funny that these two sisters post. Kasala and I had to speak in church this past Sunday and it was STRESSFUL! Even though we were told about it at the end of June of course I waited until Saturday night to prepare my talk. Well... I'm not sure if thinking about the talk and what I wanted to say is preparing but that's what I did for 2 weeks until I actually put something down on paper. I started my talk about 9pm Saturday. Manamea woke up at 1am and didn't go back to bed until 4:30am so I was back up at 6am struggling to finish.

Our talks ended up going really well and it seemed like people really enjoyed them. I bring up that we had to do talks because I can't stop laughing at this post about Visiting/Home Teaching Services that I read on As Sistas in Zion. Of course I SUCK at Visiting Teaching. I was really on it in Hawaii. I think it was because we lived in such a close proximity to each other that it made it so easy! But here...my partner lives about 10 minutes away, has 3 kids and her husband is in the military and quite busy. So do we really want to pack up 5 kids and go visiting teaching?! I just figure that it is easier to drop an email, facebook message or phone call and say "Count it!" But I know deep down that I just need to set the appointments, help my partner with her kids and go. I'm sure we'll both be blessed for our efforts and things will work out. I'd hate to have to call 1-800-SLACKER again this month.

So this months goal: Set appointments with the sisters we visit and GO visit them instead of a generic phone call or email. And check out As Sistas in Zion. It's a great site!!
