Here I Go Again!

It's been a while since I've updated our blog and it's not because I'm lazy...cause I am lazy...but we have been crazy busy. Things are just starting to settle down a bit and while Terina is busy doing something on the computer and Manamea is sleeping.... I'll just take some time to update!

First things first...... Kasala's dad came from Samoa for graduation!! It was the first time I got to meet him and it was a lot of fun. I was very nervous about meeting my father in law but he was super laid back, very nice and I didn't have to run all over the place or do a ton of things for him. One thing that did kind of suck was that he got sick right after getting to Hawaii so that was kind of a downer but after seeing the doctor he was back to himself.

So December 10th he flew in and we spent the next day shopping and driving around town. He found a guitar that he really liked and bought a few other things to take back to Samoa with him. We tried to get the shopping done early on in the vacation so we could spend more time together and not have to drive around forever.

On the 12th of December Mom flew in and then on Monday, after I spent the morning at work and Mom spent the morning at Rainbow School with Terina, we drove to the airport to pick up my Dad. We made some stops on the way home and I was really nervous about having my family meet Kasala's family for the first time but everything was wonderful!! Our parents seemed to get a long really well and that made me super happy.

Ok...so the parents are here now.... I'm still working, Terina is still in school and Kasala was suppose to be finishing his senior portfolio. Mind you.... This whole time I'm STILL super pregnant and starting to retain water like crazy. My legs were like the Pillsbury Dough boy. It was horrible but then again I was super excited because I KNEW that the baby was coming any day now whiter she wanted to or not

Thursday the 16th was my last day of work. We had a lot of fun. The 6th graders made gingerbread houses with their reading buddies in the 3rd grade. I pretty much got paid that day to sit and hand out candy to the kids. It was a pretty easy day but it was really sad to have to say good bye. The kids were so wrapped up in their creations that I wanted to just sneak out without saying good bye. A few days before that I had started crying at the end of their holiday performance. The kids at Hau'ula were hard many times. Some of them I must have yelled at everyday for the whole 5 months I was there...but those are the kids that I'm going to miss. I didn't yell because I hated them... I would yell because I knew they could do better...plus I was pregnant and I had a very short temper...and it wasn't only with them so I don't feel so bad :)

So after finishing work the next day was GRADUATION!!! It was a very exciting day. Kasala worked very hard to get to that day. We had some pretty good seats. I thought we were sitting right behind him but come to find out I was reading the map backwards so we were on the opposite side. But we were right there where all the graduates came in. After graduation we went out to lunch in town and then I was off to the doctors for one of my last appointments. I was really glad that we had such a long day because I was so swollen. I looked HORRIBLE and I was actually happy about it! I knew that they would send me in to deliver early :)

I went back to the doctors on Monday the 20th and again looked HORRIBLE and they sent me right to labor and delivery!! YEAH ME!!! I walked in a little after 2pm and the nurses had the challenge of getting me ready and prepped for a 3pm delivery. Everything went pretty fast and the next thing I knew I was sitting in a hallway with Kasala waiting to go in for my C-Section. At 3:44pm we had a little girl. This C-Section was super nice. I don't know what they gave me but I felt nothing at all! It was great! And the recovery was super nice too. I was running around TVA by Wednesday looking for Terina.

This last December was just full of family. I loved that Kasala got to send so much time with his Dad and that Terina got a chance to know her Grandpa Afa. She loves him so much and spent as much time with his as she could. I was very lucky to have both my parents in Hawaii for graduation AND for the birth of Manamea. The best part about December though was having my little brother Jake there. He lived with us for 1 semester and Terina grew quiet attached to him. Jake was able to come back for graduation and he was the biggest help. He gave Terina the attention that she needed when Kasala and I couldn't give it to her. He took her to the beach and played games with her.... he made her feel as if she were the only one around. She just LOVES Uncle Jake.

The end of the year was crazy busy. We had what felt like a million visitors. I quit working. Kasala graduated. We had a new baby. And we had to pack up the last 3 years of our lives and move across the Pacific Ocean. I'm surprised we survived it all.... and I'm extremely thankful for all of it too.
