Our ER visits.
So I'm going a little blog crazy right now but that's alright. Terina got sent home on Friday because she had a runny nose. I picked her took her home and Kasala was suppose to drop her off with our friend Siki who was going to baby sit. Well Kasala called a little later and told me she had a temp so he was going to stay home with her. I get home and her temp is about 103. Not a big deal... we've been down this road with her before, we can handle. So we get no sleep Friday, Saturday she is still fevering but acting fine. Sunday she is still fevering but it's up to 104-105 so I finally draw the line and get her ready to go to the hospital. So off we go.... without looking up what exit to get off of. This is not good epically because I hardly ever drive into town. So I'm lost, at night, with a sick child looking for the hospital in a town that I hardly ever go to. We finally find it and get her in. Her temp is a whopping 98 degrees. Give it time I tell myself. It will increase before we leave. So we watch Wall-E. The WHOLE movie before even a nurse comes in to talk to us. They give her some Motrin because her fever is coming back and send us to get some X-rays. Terina doesn't like x=rays by the way. We get back and they say she has pneumonia. They take her temperature... it's 105 again. They hold off on more Tylenol but bring in a breathing machine for her with meds in it. That was a mess. She was fighting so hard that the respitory guy and I was breaking out in a full on sweat trying to give her the medicine. Then her nurse came in and gave her a shot that hurts like the hell! (Kasala had to get it once... in his butt cheek and he couldn't sit for a few days... that's a whole different story though) So we've been in the ER for 6 hours now and Terina is dog tired. They need blood. So they come and poke her again and take what they need. She finally falls asleep around 1:00am. Her temp is down, she's breathing better and they send us home.
Then next day, I get a fever and a horrible ear infection and end up at the doctors office.
Tuesday we called back into the ER because they found bacteria in her blood and need to run some more test on her. So we drive back into town, I know where to get off this time, and spend another 4 hours sitting in the ER. This time we got our own room. (Before we were in bed 4D in a small room with 3 other beds seperated by a curtin.) So that was nice. Kasala watched basketball and Terina and I watched Wall-E again. They take more blood, give her another shot and then we wait. And wait. Terina had the same nurse from Sunday too and when he walked into the room she started to cry. He felt so bad that he bought her a little book and dog. He was really nice.
The results of the blood test came back negitave and they said that she's alright. We just need to keep a close eye on her breathing. It really gave me a scare there for a couple days. Kasala gave her a blessing and we prayed for her to get better. I know that our friends out here were also really worried about her and I am so thankful for them and their willingness to help us out. I'm happy she's fine and I'm even more happy that my mom will be here tomorrow to take care of her so I can go out with Kasala.
