SAMOA.... Day 3

Today we didn't go to church. Not because I didn't want to, because I did, but because after last nights mess we didn't even start waking up until after 9am. We stayed home and helped get the food ready for after church. We were going to a friends out that lives down the street. He was at the airport to pick us up with Dad and is a very nice old man.

Breakfast today was the BOMB! I really need to start taking pictures of the food here. We had baked taro and palusami from the umu, sausage and eggs..... and it was so good! I can't believe how the same foods can taste so different. I've come to the conclusion that everything taste better because its not over processed... everything is so fresh! I can get use to that.

When church was over we went to the dinner just down the road. The family was really nice and the food was good and there was a lot of food. Like before, the food was the same but for some reason its just better here. Maybe when you eat Samoan food IN Samoa it has a different taste. And that poor little pig that died yesterday.... SO GOOD!!! Super moist and tender.

We weren't there long. We are back at home now. Manamea is finally sleeping and the kids are showered and watching a movie and everyone else is just sitting around talking. Right now.... life is good....bug bites and all...life is good.

I guess the only other thing that could compare to how I feel right now would be to be with my family in Tri Cities. Mike is blessing Payton today and I'm really sad that we aren't there. I haven't even seen the little guy yet except in pictures. I'm sure it was a great day for Mike and Hilary. I wish we could have been there.

The rest of Sunday was filled with a whole lot of nothing. The kids were playing the Kinect that we brought and they were having so much fun. I have never seen a kid get in to a game so much as Glen and Taape. Even Peta and Maima were playing. They turned on the track and field, started to do the sprint and didn't even finish the race. They were running all over the place and laughing. I don't think they understood that they had to run IN PLACE for the game to work.

This evening Kasala and I went for a walk around the property. He told me that he and Terina are going to go out and plant a coconut tree and where ever she plants the tree we'll build a house. A house.... We're going to build a house in Samoa. It's going to take a lot of saving to do but I think it's something that needs to be done. It'll give us an excuse to come out here and it will give my parents and brothers a reason to come too!

Tomorrow we are going to town to get some more pants for Terina. Poor girl. She is going to be in pants the whole time we are here... but better safe than eaten alive by mosquitoes!! Who k now what else we'll do but I can't wait to do it and I can't wait to write about it.

P.S.... Falling coconuts in the middle of the night are kid of freaky. And so are squealing pigs.... But the sky is beautiful. You can see forever into the heavens. Its almost like magic.
