SAMOA.... Day 5

Today Manamea, Kasala, Afa and I went to town to make corrections to my dads birth certificate. I thought I looked alright... I had on a t-shirt and some shorts and actually did my hair. I soon realized that if I am going to town I need to dress like I'm going to prom. People were dressed up like it was their last day on earth and I looked like a bum. I told Kasala as we were sitting in the records building that I felt under dressed and his only reply was “I'm glad you feel that way.” RUDE!! But.... I know know that if I'm going to town I need to dress up a little more. Good thing I brought a bunch of dresses.

After making the changes we walked around a bit while we waited for Afa to finish running some errands. We walked across the street and found a sporting goods store that had some Manu Samoa jerseys in the window. Kasala wants to buy on for Dad for when they go to Las Vegas but after seeing the price I think we need to find him another gift. Those things are out of control expensive. They are the World Cup edition jerseys and are made of really nice material. I guess we'll have to look around and see if we can find a cheaper one.

In the afternoon we went swimming at Palolo Deep. The water is really nice and warm. The tide was high and the water was a little rough so the kids didn't play for too long. They had fun though and were glad to get out of the house. I guess this place is the best place to go snorkeling. Hopefully Manamea will start to like someone so I can go out and do things with Kasala.

When we went home we had fish and chips for dinner. For the last 7 years Kasala has been going on and on about the fish and chips in Samoa. Every time we order them somewhere at home he just complains about how bad they are so I was excited to eat something that he loves. He was right... the fish and chips we've been ordering suck. These ones were really meaty and almost tasted like chicken. They don't eat them with tarter sauce but with Watties tomato sauce (which is basically catchup but a million times more tasty) I've decided that the first thing that we will be packing is a bunch of Watties tomato sauce to bring home.
