Afternoon Dates
Right now Kasala isn't in school. He's taking Summer Term off and working as a canoe pusher while he waits for his RA job to start. Terina receives Child Care Connections. It's a state program that assists families when both parents are working or in school and unable to care for the child. You just have to show that your schedules overlap and they provide assistance according to your income. It's the best program that I have ever come across and has helped our family in so many ways. It allows me to work full time and Kasala to go to school with out us going broke paying for child care. And we don't have to burden our neighbors and ward members to watch our daughter, although I'm sure some of them would.
With school out on summer break and Kasala not in school we have been debating back and forth on if Terina should continue to go to Rainbow School. We kept her home for a week or so and found out that she doesn't like us very much. Rainbow School gives her structure, friends to play with, and great learning opportunities. So instead of keeping her home all 5 days, we only keep her home once a week and we go out and do something fun with her like the zoo, PCC, the swimming pool or shopping. It's been great so far. The best part about it is that Kasala and I have had time to spend with each other. It's like we're dating again.
We have gotten kind of boring over the last couple years. We don't go out as much and if we're home I usually don't stay up late with him so he resorts to playing HALO with Dad and whom ever is at the house online. But so far Kasala and I have been able to go on 2 dates while Terina is at school. We've gone out to pay bills, do a little shopping, watch some movies and have lunch together. We've been able to talk about the up coming school year, saving for different things, work, our dreams, our family and having more children, and more recently me going back to school to get a Masters Degree.
I love spending the afternoon with him and making plans for the next week, the next month, the next year...... I also love how these afternoons together has brought us closer as a couple. It's been a while since we have been able to have a conversation or a meal with out being interrupted for another cup of chocolate milk or more carrots and ranch. Hopefully your "grand plan" will all come together and we'll live Happily Ever After... and yeah I know... We don't look like this anymore but it's my absolute favorite picture of us. I LOVE THIS PICTURE!! Cause I look so skinny ;)
