A lot of times one of the Dad's who is outside with his kid will tell everyone to line up and race. The kids are anywhere from 2 years old to 9 years old. Who ever is in charge tells them where to run and off they go. It keeps them occupied for a good hour or so and the rest of the parents sit back and laugh. Terina, Vaea, Adison and Braiden are the youngest and usually are trying to keep up with the rest of the kids. It's pretty funny because I have never noticed how distracted Terina can get. She got mud on her foot, stopped and spent the next 3 minutes cleaning her toes and then got up and finished the race. Another time she ran past the tree, to the next building and through their walk way. When she didn't come back I went to look for her and she was trying to get into a little girls swimming pool.
Anyways, Terina is a poor sport. When she is behind everyone she sits down, folds her arms and pouts. Then, she gets her butt smacked and she has to sit out a race or she gets put inside the house for being poor sport.

TVA Boot Camp
We live around a ton of kids. What do you expect at BYU Hawaii... people with no kids? Yeah right. We have the privilege of having the play ground right outside our front door which means a steady stream of kids outside playing 24/7. It's not all bad though. I go sit outside in the shade and watch Terina playing, she's learning how to share more and more and she's also getting a ton of exercises.
One of the kids favorite things to do is race with each other. It reminds me of when we were young having races around the house in the summer. We had a starting line on the back drive way, and we would run around the house, around the shed and back to the front yard. Or we'd have rely races. Of course no one ever wanted me on their team but luckily Terina is having better luck in that department than I did.
And yes... she's outside running races in a Snow White dress up outfit. At least she took off the heels. That could have been dangerous.

If i thought i might win some of the races, id be out there too!
i love your posts about laie. it brings back memories of when we were young and my parents were struggling students/parents. its funny now for my parents to run into old friends from tva and they reminisce about the old days. then they have the nerve to bring their kids like we remember each other. hahaha. but this'll be great for terina to read when she grows up.
