A new Beginning

Saturday was Kasala's last night dancing in the Horizons Night Show. I'm happy too. They are changing the show and I don't know too many people who are happy with how it is turning out. I'm glad that he is going to be closer to home and not having to stay at work until 1am on the weekends. When we left here in 2005 I told Kasala that we could come back so he could finish school. He wanted to come back and dance but I didn't want him to. I just think that he could have gotten a different job... a little more appropriate to his age perhaps. But...he went back to dancing even though I didn't want him to. And he stuck with it for a year so I'm glad that he is finally willing to let go of that and move on to something that is more supportive for our family.
Kasala applied and got hired to be an R.A here at the apartments. I am so happy and excited about that. I'm always sneaking away to the office in the evenings anyway to visit my friend Roo so now we can go and say good night to Kasala if he works at night. Along with being an R.A comes a great scholarship called "free rent." This is what I'm most excited about especially since they are raising rent next month. Now we have a chance to save money for:
1. going to visit his parents in Samoa 2. moving off of this island and back to the real world
3. paying off our debt
4. hopefully paying off our car faster
5. not having to live paycheck to paycheck
Also, I have an old room mate who is a Social Studies teacher at Kahuku Intermediate School who will be giving birth next month. She offered me a chance to substitute for her class from July until December. Substitute teachers here how have a BA in education pretty much get a teachers salary too. I don't think my friend knows how much of a blessing she has been for me. I am always worried about money and how we are going to make it. With Kasala's new job, this subbing opportunity and his financial aid, I think we are going to be alright. Maybe I won't be so stressed this coming school year.
