Promoting Strong Fathers
President Obama is on CNN right now. I don't like watching CNN all the time but for some reason I stopped today right as the President was walking out. I was really surprised to see that he was talking about how the country needs stronger fathers. I know it's Fathers' Day coming up but I don't really remember any President talking about being mothers' and fathers'. I think it's great. He spoke about how everyone needs a father and how it's the little moments that children will always remember. I sat there on the couch crying as he spoke. (I've been really emotional lately for some reason. It's really starting to get on my nerves.) Anyways, I started to think about my dad.
Strengthening families never before has been a national issue. I think it's something that has been a problem but never really talked about. I'm glad that the President of the United States thinks that family is important and somthing to shed light on.
I know there are a lot of children out in the world growing up with out fathers in their lives. I'm so grateful that I had my dad at home to beat us into shape. He has and always will be a great example and influence to me.
